Guitar Playing Made Easy

As young teenagers my brother and I had a neighbor family who were very involved in playing the guitar.  They would practice nearly every day in an effort to improve.  Because of their love for the instrument both my brother and I gave it a try.  Because the strings cut into the tips of your fingers after  I tried a couple of times I gave up because I felt it hurt too much even though everyone told me my fingers would get calloused eventually.  My brother, on the other hand, was more determined and stayed with it.  He too worked hard by practicing frequently.  Eventually he became quite proficient at western guitar.
The neighbors’ interests were in the style of a great guitar player of the time, Chet Atkins, who played by picking instead of strumming.  Many enjoyable hours were spent listening to them play and sing together.  Three of that family developed quite an ability to utilize what I would term a classical guitar style.  It is much more melodious, and requires greater finger dexterity.
Years later my sister took lessons to learn to play the guitar, and now she and my brother will play at family gatherings and reunions.  I wish that I had not been such a wimp and had toughened my finger tips while learning the chords.  We have all found that packing a guitar around is much easier than a piano.
When my oldest daughter was young she expressed interest in learning to play the guitar so my wife and I got her one.  She practiced and took lessons and became good enough to play some songs.  As she got older her interests changed, and she put the guitar away.  Recently her family gave her a guitar, and she is now planning to learn how to play the guitar again for fun.  Fortunately, this guitar course will help her recover her skills quickly, since is designed not just for the beginner, but for those with advanced guitar chording abilities.
Almost any music that can be sung can be played on a guitar as well.  As any younger person can attest, there is a multitude of guitar playing genre’s out there.   Learn to play the guitar by lesson then pick the style you like, and work to become as proficient as you want to be at playing the guitar for your pleasure and enjoyment.  Much personal peace and satisfaction can come from strumming the guitar chords you have learned.  Once you know the chords you can begin to make up your own songs if you would like.

I almost forgot to tell you that two of my grandsons are learning to play guitar as well.  One is playing the bass guitar, and the other western guitar.  Our family really enjoys listening to these young boys display their skills they have developed by taking lessons and practicing.  It has been good for them to display their talents.  It has given them confidence in getting up in front of others while performing guitar playing skills.
